Sculptural long natural black diamonds cross set in 18K hand brushed matte gold. (Aprox 0.71 ctw). Named after the Cristo Negro in the church of Santa María located in Valle de Bravo, México.
It is said that the crucifix has its origin in the syncretism of Spanish and Aztec culture. The ancient Aztecs associated the color black with Tezcatlipoca, the god of heaven and earth. Some suggest that the color was used by the Spanish so the natives could associate more easily with the divinity of Jesus Christ. There are many famous crucifix depicting Cristo Negro, the two most well known in Mexico are in Valle de Bravo, another in the Church of San Roman in Campeche.
Black Christs figures dating hundreds of years old (and with origins unknown) have been venerated in Lucca and Sicualiana, Italy; Manila in Philippines; and Portobello, Panamá.

Exchanges or Returns
- All jewelry is hand made to order, therefore we cannot accept returns. However, we will gladly exchanges or modifications on sizing on unused items within 7 days of when the jewelry is received.
- We are not responsible for the maintenance of your jewelry and will not accept returns or exchanges for any items damaged by mistreatment. We are confident our pieces are crafted to the highest quality. However, as our jewelry is meant to be worn and enjoyed, over time you may accidentally scratch your piece, lose a diamond, or require resizing. We are happy to assist you. Missing diamonds will be quoted depending on the size of the diamond. Repair time will vary between 2-4 weeks. We reserve the right to decline unreasonable repairs and exchanges.
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs. Exchanges will be re-shipped to customers free of charge.
- No jewelry will be accepted after 14 days.
- All sale items are final.
